Singapore to help Vietnam build terminals for cruise tourism

The Singapore Tourism Board and tourism entrepreneurs will make their second fact-finding trip to Vietnam this quarter for a survey to help the country build terminals for cruise ships considered vital for developing the cruise tourism industry, an official said.

he Department of Travel under the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) said a film about the country’s tourism and an advertising video clip would be aired on China’s national television channel and other TV channels of Sichuan, Chongqing, and Hubei provinces in the coming time. This will be the first time the country’s tourism body makes a publicity program on these channels.

Government approves tourism stimulus

Based on proposal of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung on July 6 promulgated direction on tourism stimulus. Accordingly, the Deputy PM, on principle, allowed businesses involved in international travel to take Vietnamese tourists and foreigners living in Vietnam on tours abroad. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism was assigned to coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide detailed guidance.

An international meeting to call for investment in tourism in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia opened in Ho Chi Minh City on Sept. 30. Themed “Three countries, one destination,” the two-day meeting, which attracted more than 100 delegates, introduced investment opportunities in tourism in three countries to international investors with the hope of making Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia a busy tourism destination.
